Festival Friends 2017
“It seems that leading authors want to come to Budleigh & the community has a strong appetite for & love of literature.”
We look forward to meeting and greeting old and new Festival Friends this September.
Please note – the closing date to become a Festival Friend is Wednesday 31st May, 2017.
As we approach our 9th Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival, we are keen to expand the involvement of our community. To this end we have established Friends of the Festival or ‘Budlitfest Friends’.
Becoming a Friend of the Festival entitles you to priority booking for events before tickets go on sale to the public. It is also a great way of keeping in touch with the latest Festival news and, by providing long-term support, it helps to ensure the future of the Festival. We are a not-for-profit organisation and we need your support to enable us to continue to provide a stimulating and entertaining programme.
This year the Festival will be held from Thursday 14th to Sunday 17th September. The Box Office which is in the Budleigh Salterton Tourist Information Centre will open on 24th July but tickets to Friends will be available from the earlier date of Monday 17th July 2017.
We shall be holding a Reception for Friends at 6.30pm on Sunday 27th August 2017 in the Public Hall, Budleigh Salterton.
How to become a Friend of the Festival
If you would like to become a Friend of the Festival, please download and complete the form (right), and return it to Janice Chaldecott. If you do not want to Gift Aid, just delete the paragraph starting “Please treat…”
We would ask you to donate £15 to become a Budlitfest Friend or £25 as a couple and make cheques payable to ‘Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival’.
‘Budlitfest’ has undoubtedly found a place in the calendar and, we believe, in the heart of Budleigh Salterton.
In exchange for your donation, we would offer what we hope are appealing advantages. As a Budlitfest Friend you will have a priority booking period during which you can purchase your tickets for festival events in advance of the box office opening in July 2017.
We are a registered charity which sets out to promote a diverse programme of literature and related arts through the Literary Festival for the advancement of education in East Devon. We also endeavour to involve some local schools by putting on special events based around the written word.
The planning for this year’s festival, which will take place on 14 – 17 September 2017, is at an advanced stage. The festival promises to be as exciting and ambitious as any so far.
And, even if you don’t want to take an active part, you may simply care to make a donation to support a worthwhile local charity.
