Judith Kerr, Creatures

A firm favourite with all generations, Judith Kerr is a much loved children’s author and illustrator. Born in Berlin in 1923, her family fled Hitler’s Germany when she was a child and finally settled in Britain. She was awarded a scholarship to study at the Central School of Arts and Crafts in 1945 and has worked as an artist, author and illustrator since. Her many books include The Tiger Who Came to Tea, When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit, The Great Granny Gang, My Henry, The Crocodile Under the Bed and the incredibly popular Mog series.

We are thrilled that Judith is making a rare trip to Devon to talk to us about her remarkable life, her passion for words and pictures and her recent memoir, Creatures: A Celebration of the Life and Work of Judith Kerr.

Chaired by Nicolette Jones, Children’s Books Editor of the Sunday Times.
