Paula Hawkins, Girl On The Train

Carol Ackroyd introduces a compelling new thriller writer.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Renee Knight will no longer be appearing on Friday 18th September. The event will be going ahead with Paula Hawkins in conversation with Carol Ackroyd about her phenomenally successful thriller The Girl On The Train.

Paula Hawkins worked as a journalist before deciding to pursue a career as a writer. Her debut thriller, The Girl on the Train, has been published around the world and optioned for film by Dreamworks. A New York Times bestseller, Tess Gerritsen described it as “So thrilling and tense and wildly unpredictable, I simply could not put it down.” An intricate, psychological thriller, Girl is an ambitious story of addiction, deception, disenchantment and loss told by three female narrators.
